Taylor Swift is enjoying having a break from making music and isn’t certain when she’ll next release an album.
The American singer-songwriter’s fifth album, pop-focused 1989, was released in 2014 and sold more copies in its opening week than any album in the previous 12 years, making Taylor the first and only act to have three albums sell more than one million copies in the opening release week. In spite of her incredible success, the Bad Blood singer reveals she isn’t putting pressure on herself to push out more hit music. In an interview for the May edition of America’s Vogue, Taylor states that she has “no idea” when she will return to the recording studio.
“This is the first time in 10 years that I haven’t known. I just decided that after the past year, with all of the unbelievable things that happened, I decided I was going to live my life a little bit without the pressure on myself to create something,” she told Vogue.
But while the 26-year-old admits she is interested in pursuing a fashion line in the future, she is quick to reassure fans that she is not abandoning music altogether.
“I’m always going to be writing songs,” she explained. “The thing is, with me, I could very well come up with three things in the next two weeks and then jump back into the studio, and all of a sudden the next record is started. That’s an option, too.”
The blonde beauty, who poses for the fashion magazine’s cover in a metallic mini-dress, adds she has many short term goals that aren’t related to music and would like to learn CPR, how to change a tyre and to be a “well-rounded person who can make a good drink”. Further, Taylor shares that her relationship with Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris is moving along nicely.
“I’m just taking things as they come,” she smiled. “I’m in a magical relationship right now.”
