There has been major developments in the world of Star Wars and Focus One News has tracked down the inside scoop to give you the best news first.
Disney shared major “Star Wars” news with fans at the D23 Expo — and it was better than bulls-eyeing womp rats in our T-16!
Access Hollywood was on the scene for the special announcement with “Star Wars: Force Awakens” director J.J. Abrams and many of the cast members. Luckily, many Bothans did not die to bring you this information.
Here our favorite details from the panel that had our latent Jedi sense tingling:
PHOTOS: ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’
— J.J. revealed a new “Force Awakens” poster that features Han Solo, Rey and Finn.
— Harrison Ford, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, John Boyega and Daisy Ridley greeted fans who gave them a thunderous, standing ovation!
— “Rogue One,” the “Star Wars” standalone film, has started principal photography. Gareth Edwards is directing the film. It will tell the story of “resistance fighters who have united to steal plans to the dreaded Death Star,” according to the studio. It will hit theaters on December 16, 2016.
— It was revealed that writer-director Colin Trevorrow will helm “Star Wars: Episode IX.” The film will be released in 2019.
— Disney announced the plans for two new “Star Wars” themed lands in both Anaheim and Orlando. The lands will be fully immersive and transport park guests into a “jaw-dropping new world,” said Disney’s Bob Iger.
— The new lands will have two signature rides including one where guests can pilot the Millennium Falcon and another where you’re in the midst of a battle between the First Order and The Resistance.

— Droids, creatures, aliens and of course a cantina will be included in the new lands.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opens in theaters on December 18, 2015.
